Practitioners

Dilla Mastrangelo, co-owner, is a licensed Massage/Shiatsu therapist with a master's degree in dance and dance education from New York University. She has studied the Pilates Method since 1989 is certified through two highly reputable organizations: The Pilates Studio of New York/Performing Arts Physical Therapy, where she was instructed by Romana Kryzanowska and also served as a senior instructor; and Core Dynamics Pilates, where she is currently an associate teacher trainer of Michele Larsson's national certification program. A passionate advocate and practitioner of Gyrotonics, Dilla also studied under Juliu Horvath (creator of Gyrotonic®) in 1999, and is certified to teach both the Gyrotonic Expansion System and Gyrokinesis floor work. Dilla is a member of the Pilates Method Alliance (PMA) and a PMA-Certified Pilates Teacher.

Christopher Potts, DPT, co-owner, holds a doctorate in physical therapy from Slippery Rock University and a master's of fine arts degree in dance from Arizona State University. Immediately prior to Wellspring, he served as a physical therapist for the UPMC Center for Sports Medicine, company therapist for Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, and was formerly a professional dancer in New York with the Erick Hawkins Dance Company. Christopher has developed extensive expertise in The Pilates Method over the course of his 20-year teaching career. He has successfully conducted scientific research demonstrating the effectiveness of Pilates for individuals with low back pain. In 1999, he was certified to teach Gyrotonic® by Juliu Horvath, and is currently pursuing advanced study of Myofascial Release with noted physical therapist John Barnes. Christopher is a guest lecturer in alternative medicine at the Graduate School of Physical Therapy at Slippery Rock University. In addition, Christopher is a member of the Pilates Method Alliance and a PMA-Certified Pilates Teacher.

Sueann Fenchel, Pilates & Gyrotonic® instructor, has been studying the Pilates Method since 1998. She received her Core Dynamics Pilates certification in 2000 from Michele Larsson and her Gyrotonic® instructor certification in 2002 from Juliu Horvath. Sueann is an experienced dance and movement instructor, having taught dance at the Civic Light Opera, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre and the Ellis School since 1990. She is also a certified massage therapist specializing in Swedish and Deep Tissue Massage. Sueann is currently pursuing her degree in Exercise Science at Chatham College.

Rose Anne Lyskava trained and earned her teacher certification through Wellspring Studio and Core Dynamics, Santa Fe. She brings with her 25 years experience teaching all forms of dance to children and adults in New York, New Jersey, and Pittsburgh, including Dance Alloy and Pittsburgh Youth Ballet Company, where she acted as Ballet Mistress and choreographed original works. Rose Anne holds a B.S. in Health and Physical Education with a Dance Emphasis from Penn State University. In addition to her career as a professional dancer, performing on stage, in film, television, and commercials, Rose Anne was also a long-time member of the Radio City Music Hall Rockettes.

Tamar Rachelle is a former principal dancer with Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre for whom she danced for 17 years. After retiring from performing, Tamar helped to develop a program to assist dancers recovering from injury. During that time, she met and began Pilates training with Dilla Mastrangelo. Upon completing her Core Dynamics Training in 2002, she began teaching at Wellspring. Tamar is also currently on faculty at Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre and Pittsburgh Youth Ballet. In addtion, Tamar is a Certified Gyrotonic® instructor at Wellspring Studio.

Kim Francis has been a devotee of Pilates since her first lesson with Dilla Mastrangelo in July 1999. A student of ballet for 25 years, her ballet instructor recommended Pilates as a way to manage her scoliosis. The mind and body transforming experience of Pilates inspired her to become an instructor. Kim apprenticed at Wellspring Studio and received her teacher certification through Core Dynamics of Santa Fe. She holds masters degrees from the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Health and the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs. A background coordinating women's health clinical trials lead to Kim's current job as the Clinical Research Coordinator at the UPMC Center for Sports Medicine where she focuses on orthopaedic surgery outcomes. Kim is also a Certified Gyrotonic® instructor at Wellspring Studio.

Holly Manganaro was first introduced to the Pilates Method in 1989 while studying ballet in Long Beach, California. Following several years as a professional ballet dancer, Holly moved to Pittsburgh to pursue her interest in Physical Therapy and Pilates. After receiving her degree as a Physical Therapy Assistant, she worked in the UPMC Hospital system. Upon completing her teacher training at Wellspring Studio in 2004, she earned her certification from Core Dynamics and began teaching at Wellspring in 2005. Holly is a certified massage therapist specializing in Deep Tissue Massage.

Jennifer Pitcairn studied at Wellspring Studio and received her certification through Core Dynamics Pilates in 2005. Jennifer danced most of her childhood and teen years, leading her to a more in-depth study of Pilates. She has always had an interest in natural healing which compliments her work at Wellspring. Jennifer has worked with dancers at Pittsburgh Ballet Theater and Point Park College.
